Barbara currently works to develop relationships with industry partners to deliver innovative science and products to add value and grow the profitability of New Zealand food industries. Her focus is on the identification and development of new business opportunities in the seafood and food industries, and the development of international markets for the company’s research portfolio.
Her background consists of innovative business, marketing and scientific expertise with an excellent knowledge of the science industry, international markets, products and regulatory environments. In New Zealand she has established a successful small winery business, and developed business strategies for Telecom New Zealand’s growth in the health sector. In the USA she has 17 years of experience in the biotechnology industry and was responsible for product management of diagnostic products worth over USD$42M annually.
