I studied commercial law and accountancy at Victoria University of Wellington before working for Andersen Consulting on the redesign of the Inland Revenue tax system. Subsequently I obtained a Masters and PhD from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. While at Newcastle I was involved in three EU projects: - Design for Validation; Dependable Systems of Systems; and, - Malicious- and Fault- Tolerant Internet Applications. My PhD is in the area of software engineering and application-level security. I have been working at Victoria University of Wellington since 2003.
