Biography

Negotiated engagement in heat Quality Co-operative Research Centre and managed windup of Co-operative Research Centre for Plant Science including reporting and fulfilling all obligations to the Australian Government under the Commonwealth Agreement, and allocating continuing activities to the partners. Developed business case for establishing a number of joint Ventures including Graingene Joint Venture, AUSGRAINZ research alliance, BARLEYmax JV. Managed a number of joint venture agreements including relationship management, strategy, operational coordination, financial management, reporting. Developed the business case for three incorporated entities, negotiated investment and established the companies for Ascentia Pty Ltd, HRZ Wheats Pty Ltd and Arista Cereal Technologies Pty Ltd. Undertook inaugural roles of CEO and soem continuing roles (eg Executive Manager). Negotiated a number of research alliances and research collaborations including with Bayer CropScience, NuFarm. Negotiated licences and oversight of a number of commercialisation arrangements of CSIRO technologies. Responsible for negotiating equity investment from multinational company into HRZ Wheats Pty Ltd including meeting requirements of existing shareholders. Relationship management for a number of important clients or entities. Oversight of a significant intellectual property portfolio comprising patents, plant breeders rights, trademarks. Organisational business strategy development and input to policy and procedures. Leadership, coordination, mentoring and supporting teams of dedicated business development, commercialisation and IP professionals.
