The biochemical viability test is a colourimetric laboratory based test that determines whether small organisms are viable (alive or dead). The test has a number of potential applications in biosecurity, agriculture, horticulture and research. The test is currently being used commercially by MAF Biosecurity to determine the viability of insect eggs.
