Localised Water Heating Device

Localised Water Heating Device

The proposed solution is intended to eliminate the 30-60 second delay for hot water when outlets are turned on in domestic households. When a tap is turned on, the Localised Water Heating device will instantly deliver a precise amount of energy to heat the cold water stored in pipes until hot water from the main heating system arrives. This will not only provide instant hot water to the home owner, but will also prevent the wastage of the cold water that would otherwise be flushed down the sink while waiting for hot water (up to 2-4L per use).

Objective

WaikatoLink are seeking connections or partners for alternative applications of the core technology.

Unique Selling Propositions
  • Rapid water heating within 1-3 seconds.
  • On-demand heating in applications where it's impractical to store hot water or temperatures are too low for rapid, efficient heating.
  • Low running costs with limited current draw and energy usage.
  • High powe
Applications

This technology is currently being developed for domestic households; however, it can potentially being used to heat any fluid and alternative applications are envisaged in the following areas: - Consumer appliances - Water solutions - Industrial processing
