Mammary Recombinant Protein Production

Mammary Recombinant Protein Production

AgResearch's Genomics team have developed a technique to introduce nucleotide sequences encoding proteins of interest into the mammary glands of non transgenic animals such that production of the protein of interest occurs in the mammary gland. This approach overcomes the high cost and lag phase before protein of interest is produced typically associated with the current technology creating new transgenic organisms. Animal Bioreactors have application where production of recombinant protein is difficult with existing cell culture based technology or where large amounts of protein are required.

Objective

AgResearch is seeking Partnership with Industry.
