It has been found that the extracts of some marine sponges have biopolymer properties. It has also been identified that different sponges can produce different biopolymers and that post extraction the extracts can be formed into a range of different biopolymers by differing the post treatment processes.
NIWA is looking for an investor and/or development partner to further investigate this technology. This opportunity would suit a partner with expertise in biomaterials and polymer science.
